Default When did player vs player become player vs heroes?

I hate anet for one thing.. they turned player vs player into player + heroes vs players

Guild vs Guild is now Guild + heroes vs guild since when are heroes part of your guild?

Get that finger out of your butts and reset pvp to what it's meant to be HUMANS NOT AI'S FIGTHING EACHOTHER.

Its all about PvE now, even the PvP is PvE. I just wish i could reskin my heros to look like charr ;p

Yes and they still haven't fixed it. It's the dumbest thing EVER and it's ruinin this game no way in hell anyone in my guild will buy gw2 or even eotn if they don't fix the pvp in this game.

Isn't it ironic how many HvH players whine about how bad the AI is while at the same time people in other forms of "PvP" whine about how the AI is too good and that heroes shouldn't be allowed.

It's also ironic that the main argument of PvP>PvE was the fact PvE'rs mindlessly fight AI mods, but when PvP'ers are faced with a couple of AI heroes they want them removed (usually the people who whine about them are the ones who just lost to a group of them)

So you're saying it's a bad thing that people don't want to wait hours to get a team in which half of the players will quit after one loss?

Note: I don't even play with heroes in PvP.

I hope you PvP enough eventually to see the problem with heros... If people want an NPC in their party theres always been the zaishen henchies... Heros need to be removed completely from High-end PvP... if you need a filler theres Henchies in your GH/HA for a reason

Dude, General Morgahn is a stud.

To answer the original question, heroes have made a resurgence ever since someone figured out that four players plus four Necro heroes with the right bars beats most of the common HoH gimmicks. There are a few things that heroes can do better than players, and that build takes advantage of them.

While it is fairly easy to beat hero teams in most situations (especially gvg), I do agree that they are an unneeded thing in both GvG and HA. It makes the game boring. Because PvE is boring. And fighting heroes is like playing PvE. People don't play PvP to fight against AI. They play it to play against other people.

Factions only killed HA for most; and who really cares about HA?

Nightfall was the ultimate end to PvP. imbalanced skills to lure customers; poor balancing after their copies were sold, bad game mechanics, heroes in PvP, a (bad) fix to the hero solution in HA took way too long, etc.

for more discussions regarding the same topic, i'd go to this thread over here.

it's in the ha section but it basically covers the same issues; and who really uses heroes in GvG? and nobody needs to talk about Hero Battles, everyone knows what's up with it.

leaving this up for now though. D:

My guild that has beaten several top 100 guilds including top 5 guild totally disagrees. I'm sure so does #16 forlorn savior who was rolled by #342 random n00bs who can only run retardway.

Now if you have anything clever to say out with it saying heroes are easy to beat when a necro hero in gvg spams off hexes/heals faster and with more accuracy than any player can possibly do is just hilarious.

If GW keeps up like this they are ruining their unique mmo turning it into something shitty like diablo 2 1.10 patch or whatever patch ruined SWG (star wars galaxies) well you catch my drift.

The issue behind all this isn't that people lose to it or its too easy. The issue is that it doesn't require player skill to win, hence it is overpowered. Since the hero necros carry out their tasks and run their bars better than human players, people who are bad at the game can win nonetheless, where in the situation that there would be a full team of people of their skill caliber running the exact same build, they would lose. Any time where a hero running a build is better than a human being in the same position, there is a balancing issue.
